Decoding STM32F767ZIT6

Each character carries a decision. F7 is the high-performance family, 767 the specific device, Z the pin count (144), I the flash density (2 MB; the letter ladder runs 8 for 64 KB, B for 128 KB, C for 256 KB, E for 512 KB, G for 1 MB, I for 2 MB), T the package (LQFP) and 6 the temperature range of minus 40 to 85 degrees. Two boards can use the same family and need different parts on all five of those axes, which is why the full code belongs in the enquiry.

Where substitutions fail

STM32F101 and STM32F767 are pin-compatible in some packages and completely different inside — different core, clock tree and peripheral set, so firmware does not port by recompiling. The SPC560B automotive MCU is a separate ecosystem again. On the analog side, STPS5L60S and STPS2150A differ in reverse voltage and current rating; a higher-voltage Schottky in the same footprint is usually safe, a lower one is not. TDA7703 tuners need alignment data that lives with the board, not with the chip.
