Reading the suffix

The trailing group on these parts is packaging, and it is the most common source of an order that arrives wrong. The -13-F and -7-F endings mark tape-and-reel quantity and lead-free construction: -7 is the smaller reel and -13 the larger, with F confirming the lead-free finish. Nothing electrical changes, but a production line expecting a 13-inch reel will stop for a 7-inch one. The letter before the dash is part of the model: B360 is a 3 A 60 V Schottky while B540C is a 5 A 40 V device in the same SMC outline, so the two are not interchangeable on a rail that needs the higher reverse voltage.

Where these parts are used

The B series Schottkys sit in reverse-polarity and freewheeling positions where forward drop matters more than blocking voltage; the PDS540 in PowerDI 5 is the same electrical class in a smaller, thermally better package. The AP7365 LDO is a low-dropout regulator with a fixed output, chosen where the input is only a few hundred millivolts above the output. The PI3L301DA is a signal switch from the interface portfolio, and its channel count and configuration — not its package — decide whether it can replace another switch on the board.
